Morais Guy MP

Political career: He was elected as Member of Parliament for Central St. Mary on October 16, 2002. He serves as the Chairman of Region 2 of the People’s National Party, which comprises the parishes of Portland, St. Thomas and St. Mary since 2009. He has served as Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Transport, Works and Housing. Dr. Guy has also served on the Joint Select Committee examining the Ganja Commission Report as well as the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament. He was Deputy Opposition Spokesman on Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade from 2007 to 2009, and more recently he was Opposition Spokesman on Housing. Currently, he is Opposition Spokesman on Health and Wellness and serves on the following Parliamentary Committees:

  • Ethics
  • Human Resources and Social Development
  • Public Accounts
  • Standing Orders

Profession: Medical doctor, Member of the Caribbean College of Family Physicians and the Medical Association of Jamaica. President of the Association of General Practitioners of Jamaica (1994 to 1996). His political life has been characterized by service.

Education: St. Mary High School (1968-1975).
