Matthew Samuda MP

Political Career: MP Samuda is currently serving his first term as a Member of Parliament (MP) for St. Ann North East, representing the Jamaica Labour Party. He won the seat in a by-election on September 30, 2024.

Following his successful election, he was assigned on October 30, 2024, as Minister without Portfolio with responsibility for Water.

Mr. Samuda served eight years in the Senate.

Immediately prior to his success at the polls, he held ministerial roles as Minister without Portfolio both in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation and the Ministry of National Security.

Civic Duties: He has served as President of the G2K, the young professional affiliate arm of the Jamaica Labour Party.

Profession: Marketer.

Education: He is a graduate of Campion College and the University of the West Indies.
