Homer Davis CD, MP, JP

Political Career: He is serving his first term as a Member of Parliament for St. James Southern, representing the Jamaica Labour Party, after his victory in the 2020 General Election. He presently serves as a Minister without Portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister (with responsbility for OPM West). MP Davis previously served as State Minister in the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development. Mr. Davis began his journey in representational politics as the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Councillor for the then Anchovy Division (now known as the Cambridge Division). Following the 2016 Local Government Elections, he served as the 17th Mayor for the City of Montego Bay and Chairman of the St. James Municipal Corporation.

MP Davis currently serves on the following Parliamentary Committees:

  • Constituency Boundaries
  • Constituency Development Fund

Profession: Businessman – Managing Director of Efficient Haulage Equipment and Hardware Company Limited. He also had a 19-year career in the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

Civic Activities: He serves as a Justice of the Peace and was a former director of the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 2000 to 2006.
