Franklin Witter MP

Political Career: He serves as the Member of Parliament for St. Elizabeth South Eastern (2016 – present) and as State Minister in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining since January 2022. MP Witter also represented the constituency from 2007 to 2011. Previously he was Mayor of Black River and Councillor for the Junction Division in the St. Elizabeth Parish Council. He has also served in the Parliament as the Deputy Speaker of the House from 2016 to 2020. MP Witter currently serves on the following Parliamentary Committees:

  • Infrastructure and Physical Development
  • Committee of Privileges
  • Public Accounts
  • Public Administration and Appropriations
  • House

Civic activities: Vice-President, Alpart Community Council.

Profession: former teacher at Junction High, and now the Chief Executive Officer for Southern Plaza in Lititz.

Education: Lititz All Age School; Junction Secondary School; Beaumont Comprehensive College and Church’s Teachers’ College,
