Political Career:  He serves as Member of Parliament for Manchester North Eastern (1993 to present), and as Minister of Transport and Mining. Previously served as Minister of Finance and the Public Service 2007-2012 and 2016-2018 along with a stint as Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries. He was appointed as Shadow Minister of Finance in 2012. He served as Opposition Senator in 1989, General Secretary of the JLP, Deputy Leader of the JLP (since 1999). He was appointed Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee in 1995.

Profession: Director of Public Relations and Advertising at the Jamaica National Investment Promotions Limited (JNIP) 1983-1986; and Marketing Consultant.

Education: Knox College, Holmwood Technical High, Northern Illinois University (NIU) (Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts Degrees in Journalism with graduate studies in Marketing, Finance and Public Relations).
